Christmas Goodies Review
For Christmas daddy asked what I wanted. I said a gift card to either One Little Spark or The Scrapbook Cafe. Knowing he wouldn't actually drive down there and risk socializing with people, I also mentioned a Michael's gift card, thinking at least I could pick up glue and stuff. Luckily he braved the blizzard to hunt down $40 gift card for me! So yesterday mommy took me up and I got lots of fun goodies... including this Martha Stewart Circle Cutter:
It retails for $17.99, but I had a 50% off coupon. I was suprised at how much I liked it!! Here are my pros and cons:
It retails for $17.99, but I had a 50% off coupon. I was suprised at how much I liked it!! Here are my pros and cons:Pros:
- Extremely easy to store!! SOOOO much smaller and compact than Ek Success's, with only sacrificing 1/2 inches worth of circles. (6 inches vs. 5 1/2 inches on the MS one)
- Cuts over 70 different sizes of circles - everything between 1 inch and 5 and 1/2 inches at 1/16th increments!
- The tool is easy to use and ergonomic - the extra blades store in it's body!
- Tool won't slip either - it locks into what ever size you need.
- No special glass mat needed - just whatever self healing mat or other protective surface you have will do.
- Cuts Bazzill and heavy PP like a dream!
- Blades come with a saftey cap, so the very sharp blade stays that way.
Cons:
- Since it is lightweight, the disk can slip if you are not holding it down tightly.
- If you want to do concentric circles, you have to do them all at one to make sure they are even - it is hard to position after moving the disk, since you can't really see where the blade is going to go - you just have the one hole that you spin around.
- Thick thick photos (like the ones that come out of my old printer caked in ink) are hard to cut, especially with the smaller sizes.
In all it is an VERY useful cutter, and it's price and size makes it my new favorite purchase! Also while I was there, I picked up this Xyron Adhesive Runner:
I wasn't very sure about it, but it's amazing!!! It's $9.99 for the body and 1 extra refill. Then it's $3.49 for a set of 3 refills (i think - i put them back in order to get an Anna Griffin paper pack!). It is quite a bit bigger than the Koyuko Dot N' Roller, but it has cool rubber grips, and lays down dots of glue just as easily as the Dot N' Roller, only the glue is SOOOO much stronger!! I can see using half the amount of the old roller and getting the same stickiness. I'm sold. :)

December Daily Album
December's Here!

December is finally here! That means the final Christmas Cards All Year 'Round challenge for this year, and the end of my Design Team participation. This month the Challenge is to create 5 cards using *1 word sentiment, *2 different embellies, *3 layers of paper. I made the above Tri-Shutter card - it is SOO fun to make! If you decide to participate, link your cards to this thread for a chance to win some goodies. And be sure to join us next year to make 5 cards a month and have ALL your cards done by next December! TFL :)

Thanksgiving Going-Ons
Why hello everyone! I just wanted to pop in and keep you all updated. I was very proud of myself last night and finished 2 layouts that have been on my desk for over a year just waiting for some journaling. This one is about last year's Thanksgiving. I love the orange iridescent ink that I recolored the stickers with and hand wrote the date with. It's the Smooch stuff I mentioned last month - this stuff is way cool (those stickers were originally pale green!)
So there's that. Today my plans are to watch a little bit of the parade and go to my paternal grandparent's house. Then when I come home I can eat my maternal grandmother's pies, watch Miracle of 34th Street, and officially welcome the holiday season!! Here's grandma making the pies earlier today:
I adore my new camera!! Plus, as you've seen I have been fervently working on various Christmas related craftings. I just couldn't help myself this year! After school tonight, my lovely SU demonstrator was so kind as to drop off my latest order and I made these babies:
I made the by taking clear craft ornament balls from michael's, adding 10-15 drops of Ballet Blue reinker, swirling it around, draining it, coating the inside with Dazzling Diamonds, then finishing them off with SU's new Icicle rubons. They are so fun and sparkly!! The best part is that the sparkle is one the inside so there's no messy glitter rub off. Thanks for reading - now I'm off to work on completely stupid college papers - remind me next year to never take writing intensive courses during the fall - ugh!

10-minute ornament
Just a quick little thing I made for the Saturday Night Challenge... I literally just used stuff laying on my desk. If I had thought it out I would've used thread for the bottom portion so it dangled, but it doesn't look bad as is. I really made it as one of the decorations that I put on the bottom branches of the tree that Magic CAN play with in hopes of thwarting her attention from the nicer or more dangerous ones. TFL! :)
